SCTC Away Trip in Aptos/Rio Del Mar
2-Day Tennis Event:
Friday, Oct 3 and Saturday, Oct 4, 2025

Tennis, Food, and Fun!
Our annual SCTC Away Trip is the pinnacle event of the SCTC tennis year. Join us at the gorgeous Seascape Sports Club for a 2-day tennis tournament. Special bonus: Bring your pickleball paddle and play during your tennis byes.
The tennis tournament is limited to 30 participants and SCTC membership is required.
Two-day event schedule:
Friday, Oct 3
There's a possibility of a tennis clinic designed for our group at 10:00. When you register, indicate if you are interested in this option for an additional fee.
Check in by 10:45 at Seascape Sports Club. Tournament play (mixed and same gender doubles format) starts at 11:00. Lunch will be served at 12:30, with tournament play continuing after lunch until 5:00 pm.
Friday dinner by your own arrangement. Please note: Friday evening meal is NOT included in the fee for the Away Trip. There are plenty of restaurants in Aptos and nearby towns. Grab a friend and explore the local eateries.
Saturday, Oct 4
Check in by 10:45am at Seascape Sports Club. Tournament play begins at 11:00. Lunch will be served at 12:30. Tournament continues until 5 pm. Remember the pickleball option!
Group dinner will be held at Sevy's Bar and Kitchen (7500 Old Dominion Court, Aptos, CA 95003)
Tennis Tournament: all play will take place at the Seascape Sports Club, home of beautifully surfaced courts in an elegant setting. We take care of the lineups and order of play, so be ready for a lot of fun, friendly competition.
Saturday evening dinner - included in the registration fee.
Our weekend wrap-up and tournament award ceremony will be on Saturday evening. Our restaurant, Sevy's, is a local favorite and our 4-course meal will demonstrate why.
Lodging: There are plenty of lodging options in Aptos and nearby. The Seacliff Inn, on the site of our Saturday dinner, is offering us a modest discount for rooms. The link to this discounted rate will be sent to you when you register for the event.
Flat fee of $260 per participant. This fee includes:
- Seascape Sports Club court rental for two days.
- Friday and Saturday lunches with non-alcoholic beverage, court-side at the Seascape SportsClub.
- Saturday evening dinner: Sit-down 4-course dinner with wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and awards.
- Tournament snacks/beverages/balls, and prizes for tournament winners.
SCTC Membership is required to sign up for this event. If you are not yet a member, please find the Member Signup & Renewal page on this website to become a member for 2024, and come back here to sign up for the Away Trip before spaces are taken.
Non-playing guests are welcome. If your guest is not planning to play tennis with us, but would like to accompany you on the trip to explore local wineries, beaches, and shopping, please plan to register them for the Saturday evening dinner here. If your guest would like to check out your awesome tennis moves on the court, they are free to purchase their individual lunch at the café located at the Seascape Sports Club Club or nearby cafes.
SCTC membership is not required for non-tennis playing guests. Registration fee: $120
Full payment is required to secure your SCTC reservation at the time of registration. Online payment only.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS POLICY:
If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, cancellations received and acknowledged by the Away Trip Directors in writing are eligible for refunds as follows:
- Up to September 1, 2025 : full refund of tennis tournament fees.
- After September 1, 2025 : full refund tournament fee will be available only if a replacement participant is found.
FULL RELEASE: Submission of your registration for this event releases San Carlos Tennis Club, its officers, directors, members and the like from claims relating to any injury or damage to person or property, arising out of or incidental to the registrant's presence and or participation at this San Carlos Tennis Club sponsored event
