Traditional Team Tennis
Updates: There is now a separate registration for 2.5-rated players, or unrated players up to 4 players.
Team Type: This event is an abbreviated version of the very popular Team Tennis played every year at the club. Mixed and same-gender doubles tennis for four hours on Sunday morning. THIS SIGN UP IS FOR TRADITIONAL TEAM TENNIS players rated 2.5 - 3.5 (please visit the other Event registration page for Advanced (4.0+) Team Tennis).
Players per Team: 8 players per team, 4 teams
Schedule: Sun 9am-1pm (3 weekend matches) - July 11, 25 and August 8
PLEASE CHECK THE DATES OF PLAY. PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL OF THE DATES. PLEASE. Absences disrupt the level of play, as teams are formed based on individual skill level.
Fee: $20 for 3 sessions (alternate weekends).
Play Format:
-Teams will be determined based on ensuring a fair balance of rating among the four teams
- Each player will typically play one Mixed match and one Adults match on that day. ProSets up to 8 games per match, win by two games or a 5-point sudden death tie-break at 7-7, if needed.
- Pairing and court assignments will be determined by the captains ahead of the event. For abbreviated Team Tennis, you will either play the 9:00-11:00 shift, or the 11:00 -1:00 shift (depends on your team lineup on any given week). Everyone in the league plays in every match.
- Registering after the first 32 slots (16 of each gender) have been filled will put you on the waitlist, which will also serve as a Substitution list in the event we have a need for players throughout the season.
- Indicate if you are willing to serve as captain for one of the four 8-member teams.
Expectations & Responsibilities:
- Captain are responsible for determining weekly line ups, sending email reminders to those playing, and arriving early on match day to ensure players arrive on time and your team is ready to play. Also, helping ensure courts are clean and ready to play.
- All club leagues are social tennis gatherings with no pressure and a great way to play in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Social tennis can satisfy members’ desire for competition while keeping the focus on fun. An important part of the fun is remembering to treat other club members with respect and courtesy, on and off the court. Good sportsmanship is the standard the San Carlos Tennis Club expects everyone to meet!

SCTC is committed to the safety and health of our members.
The following rules apply if you participate in club events at Arguello:
1. Please come to the courts 15 minutes before game time. Do not enter courts until all previous players have exited the courts to minimize contact.
2. Mask up as you exit your vehicle and wear it until you are playing on court. Bring your own hand sanitizer. The Club has a limited supply of sanitizer and masks, if needed.
3. Maintain a social distance of 6 feet, including during turnovers. Place bags far apart on the sidelines.
4. Bring a new can of balls, marked as yours, and do not touch balls of others who are serving; use your foot or racquet to return balls.
5. Mask up again once play is completed. We recommend leaving the facility after you play; if you stay as a spectator, you must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. No food or drink (other than water that each player brings).
6. Please take out any garbage/recycle that you bring onto the court. The club encourages you to recycle used tennis balls using the designated recycle bins.
Be considerate of other players. If you feel ill OR have been exposed within the last 14 days to someone who has tested positive, please skip our tennis events.
