Traditional Team Tennis

Team Type: This event is an abbreviated version of the very popular Team Tennis played every year at the club. Mixed and same-gender doubles tennis for four hours on Sunday morning. THIS SIGN UP IS FOR TRADITIONAL TEAM TENNIS players rated 2.5 - 3.5 (please visit the other Event registration page for Advanced (4.0+) Team Tennis).

Players per Team: 8 players per team, 4 teams  

Schedule: Sun 9am-1pm on Nov 8th, Nov 22nd, Dec 6th & Dec 20th 

Fee: A bargain at $20 for 4 weeks (alternate weeks over an 8 week period). 

Play Format:

- Teams will be determined based on ensuring a fair balance of rating among the four teams

- Each player will typically play one Mixed match and one Adults match on that dfay

- Pairing and court assignments will be determined by the captains ahead of the event. For abbreviated Advanced Team Tennis, you will either play the 9:00-11:00 shift, or the 11:00 -1:00 shift (depends on your team lineup on any given week). Everyone in the league plays in every match.

- Registering after the first 32 slots (16 of each gender) have been filled will put you on the waitlist, which will also serve as a Substitution list in the event we have a need for players throughout the season. 

- Indicate if you are willing to serve as captain for one of the four 8-member teams. Teams will be determined based on ensuring a fair balance of rating among the four teams.


Expectations & Responsibilities:

- Captain are responsible for determining weekly line ups, sending email reminders to those playing, and finding subs for cancellations.

SCTC is committed to the safety and health of our members.

The following rules apply if you participate in club events at Arguello:

1. Please do not come onto the courts until the appointed time of event.

2. Mask up as you exit your vehicle and wear it until you are playing on court. Bring your own hand sanitizer.  The Club has a limited supply of sanitizer and masks, if needed.

3. Maintain a social distance of 6 feet, including during turnovers. Place bags far apart on the sidelines.

4. Bring a new can of balls, marked as yours, and do not touch balls of others who are serving; use your foot or racquet to return balls.

5. Mask up again once play is completed. We recommend leaving the facility after you play; if you stay as a spectator, you must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. No food or drink (other than water that each player brings).

Be considerate of other players.  If you feel ill OR have been exposed within the last 14 days to someone who has tested positive, please skip our tennis events.
