Advanced Team Tennis
Team Type: Mixed and same-gender doubles tennis for 2-4 hours (depending on signups) once a month on Sunday mornings. THIS SIGN UP IS FOR ADVANCED TEAM TENNIS players rated 4.0 & 4.5 (please visit the other Event registration page for Traditional (3.5 and below) Team Tennis).
Total registrants: 40 players
Schedule: Sundays 9:00-1:00pm on 4/19, 5/17, 6/7, 7/19, 8/16 and 9/20 at Arguello
For your registration level we will use your USTA RATING, meaning you can only sign up at YOUR LEVEL. You must be a 4.0 or a 4.5 to join. If you do not have a USTA rating and would like to join, please contact the team tennis coordinator, advancedteamtennis@sancarlostennis.com, BEFORE signing up.
PLEASE SIGN UP ONLY IF YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND (nearly) ALL OF THE DATES.
Fee: $49 for the season (six months/once per month)
Play Format:
- Each player will typically play one mixed-match and one same-sex match at each session. Exact matches will be determined by the Home Captain.
- Pairing and court assignments will be determined by the captains ahead of each session. You will either play the 9:00am - 11:00am shift or the 11:00am -1:00pm shift depending on your team lineup on any given month. Everyone on each team plays in every session.
- Registering after the first 40 slots (20 of each gender) have been filled will put you on the waitlist, which will also serve as a Substitution List when we have a need for players throughout the season.
Captain Expectations & Responsibilities:
- Indicate if you are willing to serve as captain for one of the five 8-member teams during registration.
- Captains are responsible for determining monthly line-ups and sending reminders to those playing. The Advanced Team Tennis Coordinator will find subs when needed.
- Teams will be determined trying to ensure a fair balance of rating among the five teams.
